About the Project

Stanislaus County aims to reduce collisions, ease traffic flow, and enhance overall driver safety by:

  • Adding a traffic signal to the intersection of Golden State Boulevard and Golf Road.

  • Upgrading the Paulson Road and South Berkeley Avenue intersection with traffic signals and lane widening. All traffic signals will be coordinated with railroad traffic to reduce delays and improve safety.

  • Adding a new right-in/right-out intersection and raised concrete median, limiting left turns for northbound access from Golf Road to South 1st Street.

  • Adding U-turns at the new signalized Golf Road intersection to provide access to northbound South 1st Street from Golf Road. A separate right-in/right-out access to Golden State Boulevard from South 1st Street will also be added.

Project Funding

This project is funded by local, state, and federal sources, including federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds, federal Regional Surface Transportation Program (RSTP), local match from Stanislaus County Roads fund, and the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 (SB 1 - “Gas Tax”).
